Train Kills Fair Oaks Woman Taking Pics

Kathryn Mary Carlisle, 52, was reportedly standing on the train tracks while photographing an approaching train on Elvas Avenue near 65th Street about 2:30 p.m., when another train struck and killed her Saturday.

A Fair Oaks woman taking pictures of an approaching train was struck and killed by a train that came upon her from the opposite direction, it was reported Sunday.

Kathryn Mary Carlisle, 52, was reportedly standing on the train tracks while photographing an approaching train on Elvas Avenue near 65th Street about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, according to CBSlocal.com

Foul play was not suspected, the website reported.

Used to work for UP railroad, trains are very dangerous and aren't always heard until they're right up on you, more people need to be educated on their danger and that the tracks and surrounding property are private, belong to the RR, and shouldn't be walked on, very sad story, prayers go out to her family

The ones running the trains completely out of control more than any drunk are the ones that need to be educated.

BP you're an idiot, people who get killed by trains are for the most part doing something they should not do. While I feel very sorry for the families loss she still should not have been doing what she was doing. If you want to take a photo of a train find a safe place to take it from, not standing on the tracks.
