Fire Breaks Out in Abandoned Commercial Building

No injuries reported at former Deutsch Relays property fire Jan. 3.

Hours after members of the extinguished a fire that Jan. 3, another blaze broke out in an abandoned commercial facility.

The fire started on the property of the former Deutsch Relays plant on Daly Road late Tuesday night, according to the Commack Fire Department. After responding to intial reports of smoke, Commack Chief Kieran Keane discovered a pump house  engulfed in flames.

Despite frigid temperatures and the remote location of the fire, firefighters managed to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Town of Huntington Fire Marshal and Commack Fire District's Fire Marshal.
