Fire Department Will Hold Blood Drive in Memory of Fallen Officer

Annual blood drive will honor Police Officer Glen Ciano, who was killed in the line of duty.

The is hosting it's annual Blood drive on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

In addition to collecting much-needed blood to help patients local hospitals and clinics, the fire department has teamed up with Suffolk County Police Department's Second Precinct to hold the blood drive in memory of Police Officer Glen Ciano, a beloved husband and father of two who was on Feb.22, 2009 after a drunk driver caused him to crash his patrol car into a utility pole on Commack Road.

The Commack Fire Department and Second Precinct encourage all members of the community to come out on the 12th to support this event and honor Officer Ciano.

The drive will take place at Commack Fire Department Headquarters located at 6309 Jericho Tpke.
