Firefighters Respond to Late Night Blaze

Fire at commercial building was extinguished within an hour, no injuries reported.

The responded to a fire at a commercial property early Sunday morning.

According to a spokesman from the Commack Fire Department, an automatic alarm inside the building, located at 10 Brayton Ct., went off at 2:09 a.m., prompting firefighters to respond immediately. The fire was contained within an hour, at approximately 3:11 a.m.

The blaze occurred in the loading dock of Bren-Tronics, Inc., a producer of rechargeable batteries used by the military. As of Sunday afternoon, there appeared to be minimal damage to the loading dock as a result of the fire, and the warehouse appeared to be operating as usual.

Members of the Greenlawn and Kings Park Fire Deparments also responded to the scene, as well as Huntington's Fire Marshal. There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
