Flames Engulf Truck on Jericho Turnpike

Patch reader Jessica Bellucci snapped this dramatic photo of a U-Haul truck engulfed by flames on Jericho Turnpike Saturday.

The unoccupied truck was parked alongside Ideal Tile, approximately 8-feet from the building, at 2091 Jericho Turnpike in East Northport. 

Commack Fire Department responded with three trucks under the command of Chief of the Department Pete Paccione around noon. The team of 15 fire fighters extinguished the blaze in a half hour.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known. No one was hurt.
