A Huntington man accused of threatening a town worker is due in court Thursday.
Robert Murphy, 55, got into a dispute over a traffic ticket last week at town hall, and threatened a female town employee, Suffolk police said. After his arrest Saturday, Murphy was sent to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation and released.
He was arraigned Sunday on a charge of making a terroristic threat, a class D felony, and held on $50,000 bail.
Police said Wednesday that a .45-cal. rifle was removed from his home on Hazard Avenue in Huntington Station. No other weapons were taken, they said.
He is scheduled to appear in Suffolk First District Court in Central Islip.
