Man Faces Sentencing For Commack Crash That Killed Cop

Jose Borbon pleaded guilty to drunk driving in the 2009 death of Officer Glen Ciano.

A Plainview man who admitted to causing a Commack crash that claimed the life of a police officer in 2009 faces sentencing today in Suffolk Court.

Jose Borbon, 24, admitted in November to driving drunk and talking on a cell phone when he collided with a patrol car driven by Suffolk County Police Officer Glen Ciano at the intersection of Vanderbilt Parkway and Commack Road in Feb. 2009. Ciano, 45, a father of two, died when his vehicle struck a utility pole and caught fire.
