Man Sought in Bank Forgery

Man used forged documents to withdraw from another person's account at two local banks.

Suffolk County Second Squad Detectives are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who used forged documents twice in one day to withdraw money from another individual's bank account. 

According to police, an unidentified black male entered the HSBC Bank at 5880 Jericho Tpke. in Commack at 3:00 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2010 and withdrew several thousand dollars from an account belonging to a man who resides in South Carolina.

Approximately 30 minutes later, the same man entered the HSBC Bank located at 160 Rte. 110 in Huntington Station and attempted to withdraw cash from the same person's bank account.

When asked to present identification, the suspect showed a fake South Carolina driver's license. The suspect then left the bank without any cash.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
