Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Vets Highway
A 30-year-old Commack resident was killed early Sunday morning.
A 30-year-old Commack resident was struck by a car and killed Sunday morning on Veterans Memorial Highway, police said.
Suffolk County detectives are investigating the crash.
Brian Dorak was struck by a Mazda RX8 travelling westbound on Vets Highway near Apple Lane in Commack at 12:27 a.m. Dorak was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, 39-year-old Guy Gulutz, was taken to St. Catherine of Sience Medical Center and treated for minor injuries. Gulutz, of East Northport, has since been released.
No arrests have been made.

The Mazda was impounded for a saftey check. Police request that anyone with information on the crash call the Fourth Precinct at 631-854-8441.
