Police: Man Hid Stolen Medication in Tampon Box

Thief took $500 worth of over-the-counter meds from Target.

An unknown man stole several hundred dollars worth of merchandise from the Target at 68 Veterans Memorial Hwy. in January, according to Suffolk County police.

The suspect entered the store at approximately 9 p.m. on Jan. 22 and took more than $500 worth of Prilosec, an antacid medication, from the shelf. He put the packages in an empty tampon box and left the store without paying, police said. He was last seen entering a white truck and fleeing the parking lot.

The thief appears to be in his 20's or 30's, and was of heavy build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a green and white Jets hat, a black hoodie, blue jeans and had a brown goatee.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying this man. Suffolk County Crime stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
