Restaurateur Accused of Sex Abuse

Police say Commack and Woodbury Nisen owner abused employee.

Nassau County police arrested a Commack and Woodbury restaurant owner Tuesday on charges of sexual abuse.

According to Second Squad detectives, Tom Lam, 39, of Flushing, the co-owner of   at 5032 Jericho Tpke., Commack, and 7967 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, called a 24-year-old female employee into an office at the Woodbury restaurant to collect her tips.

While the two were alone in the office, Lam reportedly perpetrated forcible sexual contact with the victim. The woman was able to escape and notify the police.

Lam is  charged with first-degree sexual abuse and is due in Nassau County First Distict Court on Jan. 18.
