Search Continues For Missing Dad

The Mayer family and friends are continuing their search for the beloved husband and father who has been missing for more than a month.

Missing signs are posted and flyers are put on cars every week at the Deer Park train station, where Robert Mayer's car, a red 2004 Pontiac, was found June 14, the day he went missing.

Mayer, who lives in Dix Hills, within the Commack School District, is 6-feet and 1-inch tall, about 200 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last wearing light blue jeans, a gray polo-type work shirt and sunglasses.

"We were talking about our son's concert the next day, which he never would have missed. Then he said, 'goodbye, I love you,'" his wife Ida recalled, before she and friends embarked on a search party trough the woods near the train station June 28.

Anyone with information regarding his disappearance is asked to call police at 631-854-8252.
