Sheriffs Bust Commack Man for DWI Twice in 5 Days

Anthony Vellucci was charged with DWI Drugs while driving on the LIE both times, according to authorities.

Commack resident Anthony Verlucci was arrested Wednesday for the second time in five days, according to a release by the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.

Verlucci, 33, was arrested at 12:45 p.m. by a deputy sheriff and charged with DWI Drugs.

Four days earlier on July 25, Verlucci was arrested on a DWI Drug charge by a different deputy sheriff at 3:00 a.m.

“I expect Mr. Vellucci will be in our jail tonight," said Sheriff Vincent DeMarco. "Clearly he has no intent to change his reckless activity without our intervention.”

In both cases, Verlucci was driving westbound on the Long Island Expressway.

He faces additional charges including Criminal possession of a controlled substance and multiple traffic violations.

Verlucci will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.

It seems that it's the repeat offenders that keep on going until a tragedy transpires. Thankfully he didn't hurt or kill anyone. Hope he gets help. DWI's have got to stop!
