Thief Caught on Commack Home Security Camera

Police say the man took a car GPS and is suspected of other thefts in the area.

Police say a man caught on a home security camera, taking a GPS from a vehicle in Commack, may also be the one responsible for several other thefts in the area.

According to Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers, the man entered a 2012 Honda Accord on Tecumseh Court at 3:15 a.m. on June 22 and stole a GPS with a property value of approximately $250.

The suspect is described as white, with a thin build. Officials said he is suspected of other thefts from vehicles in Commack.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
