Truck Slams Into Pole on Long Island Expressway
Driver airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital Monday.
A vehicle traveling eastbound on the Long Island Expressway crashed into a guardrail in Commack Monday afternoon, causing damage to the road and injuring the driver.
The accident occurred at 1 p.m. at Exit 53, where the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck lost control of the vehicle. The truck ran up the guardrail and knocked down an exit sign and light pole.
The driver was air lifted to Stony Brook hospital where they were treated for numerous but minor injuries.
