VIDEO: Huntington Man Finds Son, Babysitter Dead

Michael Baldwin II speaks about the unexplained death of his infant son and the babysitter on Thursday night.

Michael Baldwin II arrived at his Huntington home Thursday night to find his one-month-old son and the babysitter unresponsive. Both were later pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital.

Baldwin found Teresa Coffey slumped on top of the baby. Suffolk Police say she may have accidentally asphyxiated him.

Police have not yet determined a cause of death but said at a Friday afternoon that they are investigating to rule out negligence.

"There is no reason to believe this is anything other than a terrible accident at this point in time," said Suffolk Police Lt. Det. Gerard Pelkofsky.

The loss of a child is so painful, it rips your heart out and brings you to your knees. There is no good reason for a tragedy like this, just know that people feel for the family and send them good thoughts. You never get over a heartbreak like this, you just learn to get through each day and the support of family and friends is so important.

some of these comments are really unsettling with me..this was a tragic accident-THAT is why its called an accident! Teresa has been a friend of mine for 30 years. She had a heart of gold and nothing but love to give..so all of you people who are "questioning" her capability to babysit is so ridiculous..it is absolutely horrible that the baby died, a tragedy, but by no means did he die from anything intentional or malicious by Teresa. So before you start saying ignorant things and judging people whom you dont know, try getting the facts...RIP teresa my friend and RIP baby michael..may you BOTH sleep with the angels...<3
