Dozens of fellow officers, friends and family members attended a private viewing Monday for Patrick Curley, the Suffolk County policeman who died in a car crash in Commack on Friday.
Cruisers and other police vehicles lit up Glen Street in front of McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home Monday evening as officers lined up two-by-two to file in and pay respects.
Curley, a Huntington resident, was killed when the sports utility vehicle he was driving collided with the rear of a garbage truck that was backing out of a business onto Jericho Turnpike at 3:33 a.m. Friday. He was 40 years old.
A funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church in Glen Cove.
Curley is survived by his wife, Emily, daughter Sophia Jane, mother Mary Ann, and three siblings, Brendan, Katherine and Elizabeth Myers.
