UPDATED: Woman Killed on Northern State Parkway in Commack
A pedestrian was struck by a car between Exits 42 and 43. The road remains closed.
A woman walking on the Northern State Parkway in Commack Wednesday morning was struck by a car and killed, according to New York State Police.
The accident, which occurred at 6:12 a.m. took place near Deer Park Road between Exits 42 and 43 on the westbound roadway. The road was closed for about four hours as police investigated the incident.
Police said that the unidentified pedestrian was run-over multiple times while in the traffic lanes.

This is the second fatal crash Commack has seen is two weeks. A funeral was held Tuesday for an off duty police officer who was killed when his vehicle hit a garbage truck on Jericho Turnpike.
