Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps Looks to Expand

Headquarters would undergo a $5.2 million expansion if the plan is approved, Newsday reports.

The is seeking a multi-million dollar expansion of its headquarters on Burr Road.

Newsday reports that although no formal proposal has been brought forward, Commack ambulance representatives have discussed the $5.2 million expansion with both Smithtown and Huntington officials.

The building, located at 200 Burr Rd. in the Town of Huntington, would undergo renovations to accomodate a new ambulance bay and sleeping quarters for emergency workers, according to Newsday.

The ambulance company serves residents in both towns, and the ambulance corps is looking for Smithtown and Huntington to collect taxes to fund the project.
