Day 4: How Are Your Roads?

Town explained problems plows faced, pledged passable roads by Tuesday.

Heavy snow, nearly three-feet high. Plows breaking under the strain. Roads icing over. All reasons the Town of Smithtown has given to explain why the huge task of clearing area streets following last Friday's blizzard has taken four days.

So how's it looking out there now?

We took a drive through town earlier, and the major arteries were definitely passable, though drivers should be careful when driving over the bumpy patches of ice that still cling to the asphalt in places.

Vecchio pledged Monday roads would be passable by the end of day, which he described to mean just good enough to get a car down the road.

Meanwhile, Commack schools opened Tuesday, after closing Monday due to the state of the roads.

Please let us know in the comments how your road looks today. You can also upload photos to this post.

I know exactly what she's about and that's why I'm trying to spread the word. She confronts theRead More lies and the deceit in the Affordable Care Act. And that needs to be brought to the forefront
