Town Youth Council to Host Science Forum
The Huntington Youth Council will host a science forum at Town Hall March 18 at 7 p.m. for the area's up and coming science scholars.
The event will highlight the scientific talents of Huntington students who participated in the Students & Scientists Environmental Research Scholarship Progam sponsored by the Huntington Breast Cancer Action Coalition.
The Students & Scientists Environmental Research Scholarship Program focuses on the importance of breast cancer and environmental research providing a wealth of scientific knowledge related to the causation of all cancers and chronic diseases.
The event will be a supplement to the current science curriculum for Huntington's high school students and it will serve as an opportunity to appreciate the strides our students are making in the scientific community as well as encourage other students to explore research opportunities. All those interested are encouraged to attend.
The Huntington Youth Council was founded in 2003 by Councilwoman Berland and is comprised of students from every public high school in the Town of Huntington. They meet twice a month to discuss issues that affect the youth in our community and plan events that engage their peers in local issues.
