A representative for PJ Venture will present plans to to the planning board to build a 6,500-square-foot restaurant on the southeast corner of Crooked Hill Road and Henry Street.

Smithtown Town officials voted unanimously to approve a request by P.J. Venture to expand the Cosentino Commerce Center on Oct. 2. The developer was given permission to expand the shopping center by 27,022-square-foot, second-story expansion.

The Town better do something to bring more business into what is becoming a depressed area. And, why, oh why, doesn't someone in the Highway Dept start "streetscaping" the roadways around Commack?! The weeds are so tall they obviscate the medians along Commack Rd., and curbs and sidewalks are covered in grass, weeds not cut, litter, etc. It's not becoming for the amount of taxes paid in town.

PJ VEntures should be required to widen, re-pave and install traffic lights leading to this shopping center in order to accommodate any increased traffic. The feeder roads are too narrow and have poor drainage.

If they plan on expanding that area, they are going to have to first improve the dangerous intersection and install better traffic lights in the already congested area of henry St and crooked hill.

Why don't they fix that awful bus stop on crooked hill road. There is no shelter or bench fit the people waiting for the bus!! I always feel awful for them!!!!

Perhaps they should inform the Town of Huntington (unlike when they built the shopping center) because of the impact of this increased traffic on the Huntington (Dix Hills side of Commack Rd). We get all the traffic and none of the benefits of the tax money!!!!!!
