Smithtown Officials Look to Ok Major Building Projects

Smithtown Town Board has its regular meeting 7 p.m. Thursday at the Eugene A. Cannataro Senior Citizen Center.

Smithtown Town officials are expected to give the green light to several major construction and building projects across the town this Thursday night. 

The Smithtown Town Board will hold its second regular meeting 7 p.m. Thursday at the Eugene A. Cannataro Senior Citizen Center. Topics on the preliminary agenda include a granting negative SEQRA and site plan approval for many large construction projects within the town. 

Town officials are expected to vote on granting a negative SEQRA review to . The board will also cast their vote on whether or not to grant zoning exceptions to allow work to move forward on the by building a second hotel.

Kings Park residents may be surprised to learn the town board will also vote on whether to accept an AED from Kings Park Youth Organization. Previously, after town attorney John Zollo had insisted it was too big of a liability.
