Traffic Light Approved For Lowe's Building

Concerns about potential road congestion where a Lowe’s home improvement store in under construction in Commack, may be mitigated, as the Smithtown Town Board unanimously approved an agreement with Suffolk County to install a traffic light at Crooked Hill Road and Garet Place.

The Suffolk County Public Works department said the traffic light would be essential given that there is a Home Depot, ShopRite a shopping center in the area.

Lowe’s will be responsible for putting in the traffic light, as well as building an access road as part of the construction of the 140,000-square-foot building.

The Lowe’s home improvement store is expected to be complete by November, but the traffic signal must be in place first.
