Veterans Honored on Flag Day
Legis. Steve Stern visits with former military service men at the Bristal Assisted Living facility.
Suffolk County Legis. Steve Stern (D-Huntington), Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee, celebrated Flag Day with veterans residing at the Bristal Assisted Living in East Northport.
Stern was joined by members of the Greenlawn American Legion Post 1244, Marine Corps. League, Huntington Detachment, 792, and members of the Patriot Guard Riders.
Stern joined with Barbara Heaphy, Director of Recreation and Bristal Executive Director Karen Caroppoli, to celebrate Flag Day and honor the 40 veterans living at the Bristal.

“It is my privilege and honor as Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee to work with and for those who have served in our armed forces,” Legislator Stern said. “On Flag Day, we celebrate the freedoms that our flag represents and those who fought to safeguard the ideals for which it stands and thank all those whose efforts keep our nation strong and free.”
