What Questions Do You Have for Smithtown's Supervisor Candidates?

Tell us what you need to know before casting your vote in the Republican primary on Sept. 10.

The race is on, days are counting down to the Republican primary for Town of Smithtown's supervisor seat.

Incumbent Supervisor Patrick Vecchio will compete against Councilman Robert Creighton and challenger Linda Donnelly for votes to see who gets the right to have their name on the Republican line for supervisor this November.

As some candidates are going door-to-door while others set up campaign headquarters on Smithtown Main Street, discussion of those issues that affect every day life have been limited.

Vecchio, along with councilman Thomas McCarthy who is also seeking re-election and Suffolk Legis. Lynne Nowick, cross-endorsed each other and took a stance against the proposed Uplands at St. Johnland assisted living facility on Route 25A.

There are dozens more controversial issues that the candidates have yet to speak about or offer their viewpoints on.

We're curious at Patch: What questions do you have for Smithtown's Supervisor candidates? What would you like to know before casting your vote?

Do you want to know their stance on the businesses along Old Northport Road and Indian Head Road? What about bringing business to the area or term limits?

Tell us in the comments below.

We'll select questions from those posted to ask the candidates.
