Burr Student Honored By Suffolk Legislator

Amanda Osman placed first in the fifth grade category of the Brookhaven SCience Fair.

Burr Intermediate student Amanda Osman was awarded for earning a top spot in the Brookhaven Science Fair at the Suffolk County Legislature meeting on Tuesday.

The fifth grader won first place for her grade at the countywide science fair, which is sponsored by Brookhaven National Labs. 5th grade first prize at the Brookhaven Science Fair back on Saturday May 7th. This is a county-wide science fair sponsored by the Brookhaven Natioanl Labs and the Department of Energy. Approximately 100 students from across Suffolk County competed in the fair.

Osman was presented her award by Suffolk County Leg. Lynne Nowick. She was joined at the ceremony by teacher Marjorie Palamara and Principal Charles Heppeler, both faculty members at Burr.
