Commack Board of Ed to Adopt Tax Levy, Recognize Trustees for Hardwork

Commack Board of Education to hold a public meeting on 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Commack High School.

 

Commack School officials will set the tax levy for the 2012-13 school year and well as honor the hardworking among its own Thursday night.

The board is expected to take a few moments early in the night to recognize their members, the trustees, for their service and dedication as part of Board Recognition week. 

The night's agenda includes a vote on the adoption of the 2012-13 tax levy as approved by voters in May. The details include setting the tax rate for the school district and for Commack Public Library, which is then further divided based on whether residents live in the Town of Huntington or Town of Smithtown.

The board of education is expected to accept several donations from the community including a marching band drum from the Gianotti family and a $1,000 donate from the Society for Science & The Public on behalf of Rebecca Alford winning the "Best Of" category.
