Commack High School Student Recognized in National Volunteer Program

Lynn-Indora Redmond named a Distinguished Finalist in The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards.

A student was recognized among the nation's top youth volunteers in a national competition.

Lynn-Indora Edmond, 17, was named a Distinguished Finalist in The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for exemplary acts of volunteerism.

Edmond was one of 234 students to earn the title She will receive an engraved bronze medallion as part of her acheivement.

Two Honorees were chosen from each state and will travel to Washington, D.C. where ten students will be named America's top youth volunteers of the year.

Among the Honorees is another student from Long Island, 15-year-old Christopher Yao of Jericho High School.
