Commack Students Hold Holiday Fundraiser for Typhoon Victims

Local kids wrapped books and gifts in exchange for donations to the Red Cross and Unicef.

Students from Commack Middle School's student government used their time during the holidays to wrap gifts in exchange for donations to be given to typhoon victims in the Philippines.

The students wrapped gifts for customers at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore in East Northport and collected donations for the typhoon's victims.

The students also crafted rainbow loom bracelets in the colors of the Philippine flag to sell during lunch periods at school.

All proceeds from the events will go to the Red Cross and UNICEF to help the families and communities that were devastated by the strongest typhoon on record.
