Commack Students Host Supplies Drive for Sandy-Ravaged School

Mandracchia-Sawmill Intermediate is adopting a school in Freeport, which lost its supplies in the storm.

The student council at Mandracchia-Sawmill Intermediate School in Commack is stepping up to help children in Freeport, who lost their school supplies in superstorm Sandy. 

Mandracchia-Sawmill will host a school supplies drive for the New Visions School in Freeport starting Monday, Jan. 14. The drive will last for three weeks.

Collection boxes will be located at Sawmill under the student council bulletin board. Students and parents are asked to each bring in at least one item.

Items may include, but are not limited to: notebooks, pencils, pens, markers, crayons, loose-leaf paper, construction paper, scissors, rulers, glue, etc.
