Commack Students Play FBI Members, Doctors, Chefs and More in Career-Day Event

Students at Burr Intermediate School in Commack got a taste of their potential futures recently, during a career-introduction program.

Burr students learned about a variety of careers including: law, medicine, culinary art, computer programming, and even the FBI, through the experiences of parents and community members who volunteered to speak about their chosen professions.

More than 30 professionals participated in the morning sessions, held in the third, fourth and fifth grade classrooms.

"The feedback from staff and students was fantastic," Principal Rhonda Pratt, said in a press statement. "It is wonderful to expose our youngsters at an early age to possible career choices that might tweak their interests and talents."
