Commack Voters Head to the Polls

A steady flow of voters trickled into the Commack High School gymnasium Tuesday to cast their vote on the 2013-14 school budget.

The budget is set at $179,386,921 and carries a tax levy increase of 2.91 percent. Residents are voting on the spending plan, as well as whether or not to increase the number of members on the board of education from five to seven.

Denise Reilly said she came out to vote to make a change in the district.

"Where are we spending our money? I want to make sure it's going to the kids," she said.

The polls at the High School and Middle School will be open until 9 p.m. tonight.
