District Names High School Principal

Catherine Nolan, one of the assistant principals at Commack High School, will be the 2010-2011 principal.

Commack School District appointed Catherine Nolan principal of Commack High School at their special meeting on Monday night. Nolan served as assistant principal at the high school prior to her new position.

The meeting, held at 7 p.m. at Hubbs Administration Building, hosted a small group of administrators and unanimously approved Nolan's leave of absence for the 2010-2011 school year as assistant principal and then appointed her principal of the school.

Board President Mary-Jo Masciello said she knows the school will thrive under Nolan's leadership. District Superintendent Dr. Donald James said the board is looking for someone to serve as assistant principal for the 2010-2011 school year.
