District: Temporary Bus Passes No Longer Allowed

Due to budget cuts, buses have been packed to capacity and temporarily riding on a different bus – for a playdate or other event – is no longer allowed at the Commack schools.

Students in the elementary and intermediate schools in the Commack school district are no longer allowed to switch buses and use temporary passes for playmates and other events, district spokesperson Brenda Lentsch said.

The budget cuts for the 2010-2011 school year combined several buses and left no available seats for temporary passengers, she said.

A notice was sent home to parents yesterday via email.
