Donate Goods to Commack Schools for "Support Our Troops Week"

Items will be sent to U.S. soldiers who are away from home during the holidays.

Monday marked the start of "Support Our Troops Week" in Commack, in which residents will be donating goods to send to soldiers who are away from home during the holidays.

From Nov. 4 through Nov. 8, residents can drop off new, donated items to any Commack school, where they will be boxed and shipped to U.S. soldiers.

Items needed include:

  • AA & AAA Batteries
  • Body Powder
  • Chapstick 
  • Deodorant-Male/Female
  • Toothpaste/Toothbrush
  • Shaving cream 
  • Foot spray
  • Eye wash
  • Shampoo/soap 
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Sunscreen
  • Q-Tips 
  • Feminine Hygiene & Toiletries
  • Manicure sets
  • Hair scrunchies 
  • Razors – Male/Female
  • Bug spray
  • Brushes/combs 
  • Trail mix
  • Poptarts
  • Cookies 
  • Gum
  • Dried fruit/Raisins
  • Beef Jerky 
  • Canned fruit (pull lids)
  • Tuna (pull lid)
  • Chip/Pretzels/Snacks 
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Hard candy/Swedish Fish/Licorice 
  • Power Bars/Protein Bars, Granola Bars, Breakfast Bars 
  • Stationary/Pens
  • Playing Cards
  • Frisbees 
  • Sports Magazines
  • New Socks – Boot length (black, navy, green)
 Boxes will be picked up Nov. 8, the Friday before Veterans Day.
