Girl Scout Troop Inspires Students to Go Green

One local Girl Scout troop is inspiring students throughout the school district to be more environmentally friendly.

The girls in Troop 1492 have spent the school year recycling plastic bottles at . The trend caught on, and now students in other schools are following suit.

At , the Environmental Awareness Club has set up recycling bins throughout the building, including the cafeteria, where most recyclables are used.

All money earned from recycling will be used to purchase a DVD called Bag-It, which discusses the harmful impact plastic can have on the environment. The video will be used as a tool to promote green initiatives to students.
