Last School Budget Hearing Tonight

No further changes can be made to the 2013-14 spending plan.

The Commack Board of Education will hold its last budget hearing before the vote on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Burr Intermediate School.

The 2013-14 school budget was adopted April 18. No further changes can be made at this time. The school budget vote will take place May 21.

In addition to voting on the school budget, Commack residents will elect two individuals to the school board. Voters will also decide on a proposal to raise the number of trustees on the Board of Education from five to seven members. If passed, there will be a special election over the summer to elect those trustees.

The school board will also hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday night. The agenda includes a performance by the fifth grade choir of Burr Intermediate School and student awards. The board is also scheduled to approve several BOCES bids.
