Music Students Receive Awards at School Board Meeting

Student choir and string quartet presentations, followed by award ceremony for student achievements in NY.Y.S.C.A.M.E./S.C.M.E.A. and N.Y.S.S.M.A.

Special performances were given by the ICA Chamber Choir and the Commack High School String Quartet. 

Following the two performances was a ceremony recognizing students for their achievements as NY.Y.S.C.A.M.E./S.C.M.E.A. All-County  and N.Y.S.S.M.A. All-State participants. The ICA Chamber Choir sang The Star Spangled Banner, and the String Quartet performed Lullaby by William Hofeldt. 

Dr. Donald James, Superintendent of Schools, said "I am very impressed with the level of skill and musicianship that our students have.  They sound very professional, and I'm extremely happy we have such a successful music program."
