Photos: Carll Farm Visited by Residents

Residents interested in submitting a proposal to the school district by the July 31 deadline, visited the property on Thursday.

Bruce Ettenberg, State Legis. John Kennedy, Jr., members of the members of the Commack Community Association and members of the Setalcott nation visited the Marion Carll farm on Thursday to evaluate it in order to submit proposals to determine the future of the property.

Since the proposed sale to Holiday Organization failed, the school board has asked that all new ideas for the property be submitted by July 31.

The first visit on Thursday allowed the residents that met on July 7 – to discuss their visions for the Carll Farm – to view the property, see the repairs that need to be completed and also to determine which of their visions will be successful.

Bruce Ettenberg, CCA President, submitted these images to Patch for publication and said that the school board plans another visit for residents interested in submitting proposals in the future. These residents are also filing the paperwork to create a 501c3 in order to accept donations for the Farm's restoration.

"The Marion Carll Farm is an oasis of tranquility in the heart of the hustle and bustle of life in Commack," Ettenberg said in reference to his visit.
