SAT Word of the Day: Vacillate

Tips, reference guide and suggestions for the College Board test.

SAT Word of the Day: 

Vacillate-(verb)-to waver; to be indecisive

In context:  I vacillated over the decision to work and earn money or to take the day off and go to the beach.

SAT Tip of the Day:  Don't be afraid to mark the test booklet.  Get in the habit of underlining key words and phrases, making notes in the margins, and crossing out answers.  Many students hesitate to mark the test booklet because they are not allowed to do so in school, but marking the exam booklet as needed will help students to stay focused.

Reading for pleasure increases your reading comprehension and vocabulary without any stress or pressure.  The more you read, the more you will strengthen skills needed to succeed on the SAT, in college, and beyond.  Select subjects that interest you and ask a librarian to offer suggestions. 

Did You Know?  One of the ten sections on the SAT is not factored into the final score.  It is used for research purposes by the test makers.
