Sports Scoreboard: Cougars Football Brings Home Third Straight Win

Here's our wrap-up of this weekend's school sports scores.

 

Commack's fall varsity sports team are moving into the final stretch of their league seasons, jockeying for spots in the post-season play. As many compete to for a chance at a title, here's a look at how the Cougars did this past week. 

The Commack Cougars football team took down Longwood, 18-3,  Friday night under the lights in a low-scoring game. This improves the Cougar's record to 4-2 in Division I, placing them in a tie for third place with Sachem North.

The football team will host Brentwood High School, 1-5 in league play, at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 20. 

On the soccer fields, Commack girls varsity soccer team lost 0-1 to Ward Melville on Friday. The girls soccer team has a  5-4 record in League I, with 6-5 record overall.

See the boys soccer team host Ward Melville on Monday at 4:15 p.m. or the girls varsity soccer team host Patchogue-Medford at 4 p.m. Tuesday. 

In the gym, Commack girls varsity volleyball team swept Brentwood, 3-0 sets, on Friday. The Lady Cougars are 5-3 in League I, standing solidly in third place at this point in the season. 

The girls varsity volleyball team will travel to take the court against Ward Melville on Monday at 4:15 p.m.
