Storm Threat Causes Commack School District to Close

School district makes hurricane-related announcement on Sunday evening.

 

Commack school officials made the decision to cancel classes due to the potential threat of Hurricane Sandy. Commack School District will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. 

School officials issued the following announcement on Sunday evening:

Given the forecasts, the possibility of wide-spread power outages, and concerns for student and staff safety, we are closing Commack schools on Monday, October 29, and Tuesday, October 30. If necessary, we will post additional information on our website and make robo calls in an effort to keep you informed. As this storm progresses, please stay safe and lend a helping hand to neighbors and the elderly who may be in need.

The district has said any additional information will be first sent out via phone message to all telephone numbers on file. Emails will then be sent via the email notification system and posted on the district's website.
