VIDEO: Commack Student Shares Message of Hope in Song

A Commack student shared a message of hope and unification through song at the school district's 9-11 memorial unveiling on Tuesday evening. 

Anthony Funcheon, 17, sang a song he wrote titled "You're Not Alone" at the dedication of Commack School District's 9-11 memorial on Sept. 11. The song was a highlight among a very moving ceremony attended by hundreds of local residents.

Funcheon said he wrote the lyrics to the song approximately six months ago. 

"At first, the song's lyrics were meant towards bullying," the senior said. "I as more aspects around the song, more things it could relate to  Sept. 11, bullying, suicide."

The song has a message of hope and unification. 

"I want people to know they are not along if you have a problem. People are here to help you," Funcheon said. 

His single is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby.
