Cougars Head to HHHWest for a Scrimmage on Saturday

Girls varsity basketball team gets practice before the season.

The Commack Cougars girl's varsity basketball team faced the Half Hollow Hills West Colts on Saturday morning in a 60-min. scrimmage.  Divided into three 20 minute quarters, with the clock only stopping for time-outs, the two teams played competitively in a no-scoring practice game.  Both teams focused on their defense, passing, dribbling and maneuvering around the court.

The head coach of the Cougars, Dennis Conroy, commented on his team's performance.  "I'm happy with how we played.  We're a young team and we're still getting comfortable with each other and the game.  We're progressing and I'm proud of all of them."  They played their first non-league game on Thursday, Dec. 2, and their first league game is on Dec. 19 against North Babylon.
