Baseball: The Cougars lost their opening playoff matchup with Half Hollow Hills West in the Class AA double-elimination bracket, but rallied for two wins to keep their season alive. After knocking off Lindenhurst, the defending New York State champion, 14-8 on Wednesday, they outlasted Northport in another elimination game Thursday, 10-9. They will try for their third win in four days when they square off with North Babylon Friday afternoon.
Softball: After losing their regular season finale to Sachem East, 2-1, on Saturday, the Commack softball team was eliminated by West Babylon, 3-0, in the first round of the Class AA playoffs Wednesday.
Boys & Girls Lacrosse: Neither team qualified for postseason play.
