Cougars Scoreboard: The Return of Fall Sports

Football improves to 2-0.

Football: Senior Brandon Cook was at it again on Saturday for the Cougars. He followed up his two-touchdown performance in their with three more rushing scores and another on a 30-yard fumble recovery as Commack cruised to a 45-12 win over Central Islip. Cook impressed on both sides of the ball, also recording three sacks. The Cougars are now 2-0 and await a resurgent Sachem East team, who is also off to a 2-0 start, next weekend.

Boys Soccer: After fighting Half Hollow Hills West to a scoreless tie in a non-league game on Monday, the Cougars now turn their attention to their League I schedule. First up for Commack is Sachem North, on September 20. After hosting the Flaming Arrows, they'll then welcome Brentwood on September 22 before travelling to Longwood on the 24th.

Girls Soccer: After patiently waiting for their first non-league game, the Cougars made it count. They defeated Sachem East in their first game of the season on the strength of a free kick goal from Erin Neville from roughly 30 yards out. After travelling to Patchogue-Medford on Monday afternoon, the girls will then host William Floyd and Sachem North on Wednesday and Friday at 4 p.m.

Field Hockey: After splitting their first two games against Smithtown West and Huntington, both 2-1 decisions, Nicolette Lodato gave the Cougars a 1-0 victory over Centereach on Friday in the team's home opener. Now sitting at 2-1, the girls will host Sachem North on Monday before travelling to Sachem East on Thursday.
