The Cougars are 1-0 after the first week of competition in Division I, beating Patchogue-Medford by score of 26-14. Quarterback Ryan Heizman completed 16 of 30 passes for 313 yards in the season opener. Paul Maline, a senior, caught a 8 passes for a total of 233 yards and a touchdown. Another highlight included senior John Donovan who ran 113 yards in 10 carries and recorded 10 sacks.
Commack will take on Connetquot, also 1-0, after their 28-21 win over William Floyd last week.
