In Photos: Cougar Fall Sports Come to a Close

As the fall varsity sports seasons end, several teams may be headed to the playoffs and we've got the round-up of photos from last week's games.

Commack High School varsity sports are almost finished with their fall seasons and now it's time to see who will move on to the playoffs. Section XI will determine these lucky teams by Monday, and we've got some photos of this week's game coverage.

Commack Varsity Sports Top Teams

Girls Volleyball: Commack's varsity girls volleyball team is just behind Ward Meville (11-0, 12-1) with a Section XI League I record of 8-4 and overall record of 8-5. They may have a chance at the playoffs, particularly after yesterday's shut out. 

Boys Cross Country: Commack's team is third in the League II division, with an overall and league record of 3-2.

Boys Soccer: Commack's varsity boys soccer team is first in the League I standings, over their local rival Brentwood (10-1-2, 12-1-2) with a league record of 11-1-1 and an overall record of 13-1-1. Think they'll remain on top? Their next game is Thursday at 4 p.m. at home against Sachem East. 

Boys Golf: The fall session of boys varsity golf is second behind Smithtown East (10-2, 10-2) in the League III division, with a league and overall record of 9-3. 

Girls Gymnastics: Fall girls varsity gymnastics is third in the League I division, behind Kings Park (5-0, 9-0) and Babylon (4-1, 7-1), with a league record of 4-1 and an overall record of 8-1. Their next meet is on Friday at Smithtown East at 4:30 p.m.. Their undefeated streak ended with the fall to Babylon last Friday. 

Girls Cross Country: Commack is second place in varsity girls cross country, right under undefeated Ward Melville (5-0, 5-0), with a League II and overall record of 3-2. 

Girls Soccer: Girls varsity soccer is in third place, under Sachem East (10-1, 13-2) and Ward Melville (8-3-0, 9-3-2), with a League I record of 7-3-1 and an overall record 7-4-2.
