Kings Park-Commack Ice Hockey Crushes West Islip

In a match on Wednesday at the Rinx in Hauppauge, KPC crushed West Islip – 12-1 – to remain undefeated.

The Kings Park-Commack Varsity ice hockey team took down the West Islip Lions on Wednesday night in a fierce match at the Rinx in Hauppauge, resulting in a score of 12-1.

KPC (3-0) did not waste any time putting pucks in West Islip's net, as winger Brandon Amon scored only 12 seconds into the game.

Amon took a feed from captain Kyle Twining off the opening draw, skated right between the West Islip blueliners and slid the puck passed goalie Tom Rubin.

The onslaught of the KPC offense continued with no signs of letting up.

Just over three minutes later, Twining tapped in a puck that was perfectly deflected onto his stick after KPC defensemen Robert Colyvas blasted a shot from the point.

That was only the beginning for Twining, who added three more goals over the course of the night.

The Lions (0-3), who were outshot 42-8, have now lost their first three games by a combined margin of 33-4.

The Lions were not only beaten badly on the scoreboard, but were physically abused as well. The stronger KPC team pushed the Lions around the entire game, which muffled any chance West Islip had at sustaining any extended period of puck possession.

It was a dominant performance by KPC, who had nine different players make their imprint on the box score, with seven of those nine players scoring goals.

West Islip's lone goal came with 1:19 remaining in the first period, when winger Adam Cassano snuck a puck passed KPC's goaltender.
